9 openers changed in last 31 T20s without Tamim

Right-arm opener Munim Shahriar played the first match of the three-match T20 series against the host West Indies. Failed to bat. He did not get a place in the XI in the second match. It is more likely that he will not be in the XI in the third match.

Tamim Iqbal is not interested in playing T20. Tamim last played for the country in T20 on March 9, 2020. Now that he is not in the team, the team management is bringing one opening change after another. But nothing good is coming. The team management is now almost mad to change the opening pair.

The team management has changed nine openers in the last 31 T20 matches without Tamim. Earlier, Naim Sheikh, Liton Das, Soumya Sarkar, Saif Hasan, Sheikh Mahedi Hasan, Nazmul Hossain Shanto and Shakib Al Hasan were seen in the role of openers. Among them Naim Sheikh, Soumya Sarkar, Saif Hasan, Nazmul Hossain Shanto are no longer in the T20 squad.

Liton Das batted in the opening match with victory. Only eight runs came from their pair. Maybe you can open these two batsmen in the third match too. However, if the result is not good, maybe the team management will think about changing the opening pair again.

Nothing is working. BCB is trying to make a pair settle in T20, whose can perform well. Without a good openning, it is not possible to make any big score. So, at present BCB’s eye is at selecting a permanent opener in the T20.
