In the latest match of the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) Super League, Abahani Limited secured a comfortable 8-run victory against their arch-rivals, Mohammedan Sporting Club. This win has put Abahani one step ahead in the race to lift the trophy in the upcoming season.
The match started with Mohammedan winning the toss and choosing to field first. However, things did not go as planned for them as Abahani’s openers Imrul Kayes and Soumya Sarkar fell early in the innings. Mohammadan’s Nahidul Islam and Tanjim Hasan Sakib took two wickets in Shakib Al Hasan’s over to give their team an early advantage.
Despite losing wickets early on, Abahani managed to recover with the help of Mahidul Islam Ankon and Ariful Islam’s partnership. Eventually, Mohammedan fell short by 8 runs, handing Abahani their second victory of the season. With this win, Abahani has moved up to second place in the points table, just behind Prime Bank Cricket Club.
