Bangladesh HP team is all set to play in Top End T20 series

Bangladesh High Performance Unit (HP) team is likely to participate in a Big Bash style T20 series hosted in Darwin along with Pakistan Shaheens and 7 other top-of-the-class teams including famous Big Bash teams like Perth Scorchers, Melbourne Renegades, Melbourne Stars, Tasmania, Adelaide Strikers, and ACT Comets. The Top End T20 series will be played from 9 August to 18 August where 9 teams will face each other in back-to-back T20 actions in a round-robin format.

The officials have already published the fixture for the series. However, the Bangladeshi team will leave for Australia on 13 July since they embark on the Pakistan Shaheens two four-day matches followed by a tri-series against both Shaheens and the Northern Territory of Australia. Northern Territory Cricket will host the red-ball and the other two series. However, the 4-day series is being hosted by the NTC for Bangladesh Cricket Board.

The Top End T20 series is a part of the Cricket 365 program which prepares the future generation of the Australian team starting from 2023. However, in the inaugural edition, only 6 teams participated along with Pakistan Shaheens. This time the organizers invited the Bangladesh HP team for the event.

Naimur Rahman, the chairman of the HP team, told the media on the occasion of this opportunity, “We extend our heartfelt thanks to Northern Territory Cricket and Cricket Australia for inviting the BCB High Performance team to the prestigious Top End Series.

“This opportunity will undoubtedly provide invaluable experience to our players, exposing them to a high standard of competition,” he added.
