Pakistan has selected 3 grounds for the battle of the 8 finest teams on the earth that will take place between 19 February to 9 March. Lahore is likely to host the most matches – 7 out of 15 matches in the tournament. Pakistan is willing to arrange all of the team India matches at this ground due to security concerns. Karachi and Rawalpindi have got 3 and 5 matches respectively on their possession. However, if India qualifies for the semi-final, their match will be hosted in Lahore. The final will also be played at the same stadium.

Though the Pakistan Cricket Board has submitted this draft schedule, still the question is swirling around whether BCCI will be sending the men in blue to play the tournament in Pakistan. There were several heated arguments shared by both sides in recent years due to the ongoing political relationship. Pakistan came to India last year to play the Cricket World Cup. BCCI previously stated, that their government will guide them on this matter.

Bangladesh played in the semi-final following a historic victory against the Kiwis in the last edition of the Champions Trophy. To date, it’s the biggest achievement for the Tigers in an ICC tournament as they played in the quarter-final in the 2015 World Cup and in the Super Eight in this year’s T20 World Cup. This may be the last time Mushfiqur, Shakib and Mahmudullah will be playing in an ICC event if the selectors want all of them in the squad.
