Lankan coach impressed with Bangladesh’s pace unit
It was not too long ago when Bangladesh played with only one specialist pacer. Seeing three pacers in the Tiger squad was just a dream. However, times have changed significantly.
The strength of the Tigers’ bowling department now lies in their pace unit.
Since the 2019 World Cup, Bangladesh’s pace bowling department has garnered global attention. In the past four years, only Pakistan has exhibited more prowess in pace bowling than Bengal’s pacers.
The Sri Lankan coach added, ‘I am impressed with their bowling unit, especially the pacers. They exhibit strength, accuracy, and extract movement off the wicket.’
Coach Silverwood emphasized, ‘Regarding Bangladesh’s batting, it’s crucial to keep them under pressure. We must ensure that. Although they haven’t scored heavily recently, we recognize their potential and should respect that. We need to maintain the pressure and take wickets. Our plans are tailored for each bowler and batsman individually.
