The ICC Men’s Player of the Month for September 2022 has been announced.

After some outstanding performances, Pakistan batter Mohammad Rizwan has been named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for September 2022.

Rizwan defeated ace Indian spinner Axar Patel and promising Australian all-rounder Cameron Green, both of whom had a memorable month.

Rizwan was on fire in September, putting up some scorching performances in T20Is. The No.1 T20I hitter in the MRF Tyres ICC Men’s Player Rankings maintained his dominance in the shortest version of the game and was named to the September Player of the Month shortlist.

After receiving the honor, an overjoyed Rizwan stated: “I’d want to thank Almighty Allah and offer my profound gratitude to everyone who helped me win this award.

“I’d want to express my gratitude to all of my teammates for making things so simple for me. These accomplishments increase your self-esteem. I am pleased with my performance and want to continue this trend in Australia.

“I’d want to dedicate this prize to the people of Pakistan who have been impacted by flooding and climate change. This should put a smile on their faces.”

Rizwan scored seven fifties in ten games played last month. His month began with two 70-plus scores in the Asia Cup versus Hong Kong and India. He concluded the competition with another fifty and as the tournament’s leading run-scorer, but Pakistan fell short at the end.

He scored four 60+ scores in the first five T20Is of the seven-match series against England, helping his team establish a 3-2 lead. Despite playing one fewer game, he completed the season as the series’ leading run-getter, with 316 runs at an average of 63.20 and a total of 138.60.
