Who will be the captain in the last T20?

Kazi Nurul Hasan Sohan’s tour of Zimbabwe ends with a finger injury. He is scheduled to board a flight back home on Monday. Bangladesh took the field under his leadership in the T20 series. But unfortunately Sohan is not able to play in the final match of the series decider.

So the question is who will lead Bangladesh in the last match instead of Sohan? It is known that the team management is considering two names – Liton Das and Mosaddek Hossain Saikat. Liton is a regular cricketer of the team, a regular performer. Earlier, he also led the team in a match in New Zealand. So the Test vice-captain may be seen tossing in the last match.

But Mosaddek is also considered by the management. Although irregular in the team, he is well respected as a captain in domestic cricket. Beside the name, there are titles of Dhaka League and BCL. He was also the hero of Bangladesh’s victory in the second match. In these considerations, Mosaddek is not behind Liton.

As the team is in Zimbabwe, BCB is not giving any instructions about the captaincy from the country. Jalal Yunus, director of BCB and chairman of the cricket management committee, said that the team management will select the captain in the last match. He told RisingBD on the phone, “There is a team director, team management. They will choose whoever they think is best for a match. The two names you mentioned will surely be considered. Lytton has captained before. He has experience. Mosaddeq is a regular captain in domestic cricket. He can also be considered. Whatever decision comes, it will be taken by the team management.

However, team sources have confirmed that Bangladesh will enter the series-deciding match on Tuesday under the leadership of Liton, who performed well with the bat in two matches. BCB has no plans to play any new captain for now.
