2023 World Cup will be the last World Cup for the four of us: Tamim

The ODI series win in the tour of West Indies gave relief to the Bangladesh team. After a bad period, the Tigers’ dressing room seems to have an air of peace.

Captain Tamim Iqbal is having a good time in ODIs. Bangladesh won five series under his leadership this year. But Tamim aims higher. He wants to prepare a strong team for the upcoming 2023 World Cup.

Also, the 2023 World Cup could be the last World Cup for four of them (Tamim, Shakib, Mushfiq and Mahmudullah). This is what the ODI captain said.

Tamim said after confirming the series by thrashing West Indies by 9 wickets on Wednesday, “Most likely the 2023 World Cup (to be held in India) is going to be a big event for all of us. Especially for the four of us, for whom this is the last World Cup. So we have planned to go ahead with the best possible team and combination.

In Bangladesh cricket, Mashrafe, Shakib, Tamim, Mushfiq and Mahmudullah were called Panchpandav. But with the passage of time, Mashrafe is now far away from the national team. Mahmudullah Riyad has put up the white clothes. Tamim’s reluctance in T20.

There retirement will bring sorrow in the mind of Bangladesh Cricket Lover. Absolutely, not only the people of Bangladesh. All the cricket lover of the world will miss them.
