Bangladesh announces squad for Afghanistan ODI

Following their remarkable triumph in the Test match, Bangladesh has announced the squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Afghanistan. The squad includes the return of Taskin Ahmed, Afif Hossain, and Naim Sheikh, while Mrittunjoy Chowdhury, Yasir Ali, and Roni Talukdar have been left out.

Shakib Al Hasan, unfortunately, suffered a finger injury, forcing him to miss the final ODI against Ireland. Despite his absence from the Test series against Afghanistan, Shakib has made a comeback for the ODI series.

Tamim Iqbal, who couldn’t play the Test due to injury, has also made a return to the squad for the ODI series. Although he missed the Test, Tamim has actively participated in training sessions during the Test series at Mirpur Indoor.

Despite being dropped from the squad in the previous series against Ireland, Afif Hossain showcased his skills in the Dhaka Premier League. Making an impressive comeback, Afif scored 550 runs in 15 matches with a remarkable strike rate of 110.66 in the Premier League.

Bangladesh is now preparing for the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan, set to take place on July 5, 8, and 11 in Chattogram. Following the ODI series, an exciting two-match T20 International series will captivate fans at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on July 14 and 16.
