Bangladesh is starting a three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe in Harare from Friday. If Tamim can score 57 runs in this series, Tamim will complete 8000 runs as the first batsman of Bangladesh.
Currently, Tamim has scored 7943 runs in 226 innings in 228 matches with 14 centuries and 53 half-centuries. Batting average- 36.94.
Tamim made his ODI debut against Zimbabwe in February 2007. Shakib Al Hasan is the second highest run scorer for Bangladesh after Tamim. Shakib has 6755 runs in 209 innings in 221 matches. Mushfiqur Rahim is in third place. He scored 6697 runs in 218 innings in 233 matches.
The ODI captain will make a record by completing 8000 runs in ODI career as the first Bangladeshi if all goes well.
