We dream to win Asia Cup-World Cup: Miraz

Bangladesh has been consistently successful in ODIs in the last few years. That’s why Bangladeshi cricketers and fans dream big about the 50-over version of cricket. Mehdi Hasan Miraj extended the scope of that dream a little more. After returning from the West Indies, the spin all-rounder said that they dream of winning the Asia Cup and the World Cup.

After the 2015 World Cup, Bangladesh’s ODI performance began to change. After that World Cup, Bangladesh won the series with India, Pakistan and South Africa as well. Consistent performance in 50-over cricket has continued for the past few years. Meanwhile, Tamim Iqbal’s team won the series in South Africa a few months ago.

A few days ago, Bangladesh whitewashed the West Indies. After whitewashing Nicholas Pooran’s team, captain Tamim said that Mahmudullah Riyad, Mushfiqur Rahim and himself could end their careers in the 2023 World Cup. Along with that, Tamim also told about the possibility of doing well for Bangladesh in the World Cup held in India.

Miraj wants to achieve a big thing for Bangladesh before the departure of the experienced cricketers of the team. This Bangladeshi spin all-rounder is eyeing the Asia Cup and the World Cup. Mirage is also relying on luck to win such a tournament. But they want to find a way to win the World Cup.

Talking to the journalists, Miraj said, “Of course, it is the responsibility of all of us. Because if we do well in the World Cup, it will be good for the country as it is good for us. So I will definitely try to achieve something big with them. But you can’t say that I will be the World Cup champion. We can try, maybe play good cricket. We can figure out how to win the World Cup. It’s all about luck. We dream of winning the Asia Cup and the World Cup.”

He also added, “2023 World Cup is not far away. Maybe 1 year 2/3 months. But the way we’re going, the way we have it. So I think the World Cup will be even better ahead of us in this process. Because there will be many experienced players. There are almost Tamim brothers, Shakib brothers, Mushi brothers, Riyad brothers, they are very experienced. Then I played Mustafiz, Liton too. Almost all of us will have international careers in five years. So with a fairly good experience, we will be able to play well in the World Cup.”
