Bangladesh set to play two T20Is in Dubai

Bangladesh cricket team is going to play two T20Is against the United Arab Emirates during their short camp in Dubai as a preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022.

“We have finalized our preparation camp that was expected to be held abroad. The main thing was that our team preparation was interrupted due to weather conditions and as a result, we planned it that way (preparing outside Bangladesh) and we discussed it with one or two member countries and decided that we will be having a camp in UAE,” BCB CEO Nizamuddin told reporters at Mirpur on Thursday.

The matches are scheduled to take place on September 25 and 27 in Dubai. He added, “Bangladesh and UAE will play a two-match T20I series and we are working on it. We are expected to depart on September 22 and return (back home) on 28 and during this time frame we want to have a few practice sessions along with two T20I against UAE.”

Nizamuddin added that they are aware that conditions in New Zealand and Australia will differ from those in the UAE, but that they have no alternative because their preparations have been hampered by rain in Bangladesh.

“More than condition what is more important is that we could not practice here due to weather condition and taking this into consideration team management planned it that way. More than condition what is more important is that we can have match scenario practice session along with availing the facilities that are there in Dubai,” Nizamuddin said.
