Hridoy needs to work on his strike rotation: Dinesh Karthik

Bangladesh middle-order batsman Tawhid Hridoy once again showcased his batting skills after being scoreless in two consecutive innings. Despite Bangladesh’s defeat to Sri Lanka, he kept the hopes of Tiger fans alive with his innings. His score of 82 runs kept Bangladesh in contention for victory. However, ultimately, the team fell short of clinching the win.

Former Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik pointed out a weakness in Hridoy’s game: his inability to rotate the strike effectively against the pace bowlers early on. Karthik commented, “It was a good innings, but there is room for improvement. He struggled to rotate the strike against the fast bowlers in the beginning. Despite their excellent bowling, his strike-rotation skills were lacking, which put pressure on Mushfiq. Consequently, Mushfiqur got out.”

However, while discussing this weakness, Karthik also praised Tawhid’s batting. Nevertheless, Karthik disagreed with his dismissal. Hridoy was adjudged lbw by Thiksana in a decision that stirred controversy. The umpire’s call at that crucial juncture forced Hridoy to return to the dressing room, and Bangladesh’s chances dwindled. Consequently, Sri Lanka found it easier to secure the victory
