Franchise League

Pakistani cricketers are not getting permission to play in the Big Bash!

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is not giving clearance to Pakistani cricketers to play in Big Bash. They did not confirm whether Pakistani cricketers will be able to play in Dubai’s International League Twenty20 as well.

Mainly due to the busy schedule of domestic and international cricket in Pakistan, several local media reported that Pakistani cricketers are not given clearance. They did not give any details about the obligation of the cricketers to play domestic cricket.

Meanwhile, 98 foreign cricketers have signed up for the Big Bash draft. Several Pakistani cricketers were supposed to submit their names before the deadline. Also, several star Pakistani cricketers are scheduled to play in the ILT in Dubai.

Another franchise league in South Africa is starting next year with the ILT. As a result, the demand for Pakistani cricketers is much higher than in other years. Unless the PCB changes its stance, there may be no Pakistani cricketers in foreign franchise leagues next year.

Before Rameez Raja took over as the PCB chairman, the country’s cricketers were allowed to play in one more franchise league apart from the Pakistan Super League (PSL). This time too, there is confusion about whether the PCB will follow that path.

Recently PCB has offered contracts to 33 cricketers in white ball and red ball cricket. As a result, if the contract is signed with the board, the decision of the cricketers not to play in the external league will be in the hands of the PCB. As a result, many cricketers may not be interested in the contract, according to several Pakistani media.
