Team Tigers needs a kick

Things are a little bit messed up for Bangladesh. A team which secured the third position in the ICC One Day Super League is now struggling almost everywhere. Batters are not doing their job well and opening peers is just like a nightmare, they even haven’t crossed 250 runs in any of the previous matches where South Africa, Pakistan and Sri Lanka showed some spellbinding performances throughout the time. On the other hand, often bowlers are not finding their way as English and New Zealander batters dealt with the tiger attack quite beautifully. But Bangladesh has to come back.

Apparently, for three Bangladeshi super stars – Mushfiqur Rahim (36), Mahmudullah Riyad (37) and Shakib Al Hasan (36) this is the last World Cup and from the next one, there will be a completely new Bangladesh team. This trio influences where the Bangladesh team and our cricket culture stand now. That’s why Bangladesh’s cricket fraternity was eager to see something special in this World Cup like 2015 and to make it possible team Tigers needs a ‘kick’.

The Bangladeshi batting order isn’t organized yet and despite Miraz, Mahmudullah, Shakib and Mushfiqur’s participation isn’t working at the end of the day. Little Tamim isn’t that greatly experienced and is turning out to be a flop product at this moment. Liton isn’t in his best shape though he performed well every once in a while. Shanto, Miraz, Tawhid, Mushfiqur, Mahmudullah – none of them has a fixed spot to bat these days. Maybe that’s a prime concern for the team and despite having the most experienced players by our side we are not proving our strength.

Still, Bangladesh can hope for something better. We know that India is super strong at home, but our recent performance against them was good – 3 wins out of the last 4 matches. Sri Lanka can be beatable, which is so for the Netherlands. Subsequently, if Bangladesh can beat anyone from Australia, South Africa and Pakistan – we can hope for the semi-finals. Besides, from recent incidents, it has been proved that anything can happen in this World Cup. However, the big task is that the Tigers should unite and play as a well-managed team because it’s a team game.
