‘Zimbabwe is dangerous in their own condition’

My comment from Zimbabwe ‘Bangladesh is not conquered. After T20 Cereb’s 2-1 loss, the confidence level is about to go down. But expect something different in ODIs starting tomorrow. Peace in ODIs is the cause of peace. However, ODI captain Tamim Ike is cautious. At the pre-Siri press conference at Harare Sports Club today, he said, Zimbabwe are always a dangerous team in the conditions.

Tamim’s words are fresh from the three-match Twenty20 series. He himself was saying, ‘We want to judge the strength of two forces. But in cricket, it is the team that will do well on a certain day. In the T20, Zimbabwe said they are better than us and won the series. Same here. If they want to beat them, they have to play their best game. Zimbabwe are a dangerous team on their own terms.

After South Africa, West Indies also won the ODI series and the confidence in this world is high now. Tameri Dey has won the last seven One Series for Bangladesh. Warning Tamim insists on following the correct procedure in my Siri in Zimbabwe, ‘so long as we give it correctly, we must write it. And the things that I did not do well, I made mistakes, must be fixed. In essence, the process must be followed methodically. We can do better even in difficult situations.

From my side, Zimbabwe shows opportunities for youngsters, ‘I think we are a young team apart from two or three players. There are a couple of places, which are not ripe yet. In that direction, every young person has the opportunity to pave the way.’

A stat may give Tamim some relief before the Wanderer’s head on. Bangladesh has won 19 consecutive matches. After the t-t-t overall loss, it’s now for the election statistics to give the ‘best of themselves a boost.
