Mosaddek next to Shakib with record

Mosaddek Hossain Saikat bowled better than expected in the life-or-death match against Zimbabwe.

Off-spinner Saikat bowled a career-best at the Sports Club ground in Harare on Sunday. Confused by his ball, Zimbabwe’s first-row 5-star batsman returned to the dugout for just 31 runs in 6.5 overs.

Beach got success in the first over of the innings. He sent back Ragis Chakava with the first ball and Wesley Madhevere with the last ball. Off-spinner Mosaddek took 2 wickets of Zimbabwe by spending only 5 runs in the first over.

Mosaddek forced Zimbabwe captain Craig Irvine to take a catch in the third ball of the third over of the innings. He returned by giving the catch to Liton Das with only 1 run from 4 balls.

Then in the fifth over of the innings, Mosaddek came to the bowling and took the wicket again. On the fourth ball of the over, Beach took a catch of Shaun Williams himself.

Mosaddek came to the bowling in the last and seventh over of the innings and took a wicket again. Milton forced Shumba to take a catch on the fifth ball of the over. Shumba returned with a catch in the hands of pacer Hasan Mahmud by scoring 3 runs in 8 balls.

Zimbabwe lost 5 wickets for 31 runs in 6.5 overs on Shumba’s departure.

In the first spell, Mossadek sat next to Shakib, overtaking Mustafizur Rahman by taking 5 wickets after spending only 20 runs in 4 overs.

Mustafiz took 5 wickets for 22 runs in 4 overs in 2016 World T20 match against New Zealand in Kolkata.

Shakib Al Hasan took 5 wickets for 20 runs in 4 overs against West Indies in Mirpur in 2018.

However, Ilyas Sunny bowled the best innings for Bangladesh in T20. The left-arm spinner, who became an irregular in the national team, took 5 wickets for just 13 runs in 4 overs against Ireland in Belfast on 12 July 2012.
