T20 captain Nurul Hasan Sohan has been ruled out of the Zimbabwe tour due to a finger injury. Mahmudullah Riyad will play in the third T20 instead as a replacement. All-rounder Mosaddek Hossain Saikat will lead the team. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed the matter in a statement on Monday (August 1).
Nurul Hasan Sohan got bad news after getting his first win as captain. The wicket-keeper batsman has been sidelined for three weeks with a finger injury. Sohan got injured during the second T20 against Zimbabwe. Hasan Mahmud says he got a pain in his finger while keeping. Later, an X-ray revealed a crack in his index finger.
The injured Sohan will leave Harare for the country today. The young wicket-keeper batsman will be under the supervision of BCB’s medical team here.
Zimbabwe won by 17 runs in the first of the three-match T20 series. The Tigers won by 7 wickets in the second innings. They have to win the third and last T20 to win the series. Can Bangladesh win with the leadership of Mosaddek? It is now a matter to be seen.
