Praise for Bangladesh’s ODI performance at the ICC meeting

Bangladesh’s Test and T20 performance is not good. Especially worse in tests. There is no end to oblique criticism about it. There is fear, that the ICC will again relegate the Tigers to the second row in the Test.

However, Bangladesh has stood well as a team in ODI. Judging by the performance, the Tigers can now be kept in the ranks of the big teams. Hopefully, Bangladesh’s ODI performance has been praised in the ICC Annual Meeting itself. BCB Chief Executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury Sujan gave this information this afternoon (Monday).

Talking to the media for the first time on Monday after returning home after the ICC meeting, Nizamuddin said, “If the issue of being on top in the ODI Super League comes at the beginning, then it might be a big factor for us. It becomes a big issue for cricket in our country. You must have seen that the ICC has highlighted this in its annual report as well. Especially the performance of our ODI team. We are all very happy about it.”

Can Bangladesh play more international matches in the future? In response to such questions, BCB CEO said, “Perhaps we have been able to get closer to extending the match or playing more games as per the request.” We may have some deficiencies in a couple of places, maybe we will overcome them.”

Is the revenue distribution increased in the ICC? When asked, the BCB CEO replied, “Look, revenue sharing in the ICC is not discussed for a specific country and there is no scope for that. A model is given, followed by revenue sharing. That is how it is and how it will be in the future, that will be fixed in the next cycle.”
